The modern debate of creation versus evolution, disguises a much more ancient question.

"Is there really a God, and has He spoken to mankind?"

Cloaking this question in the guise of a scientific investigation of origins provides a measure of distance and comfort to some people.  They can step back from this decision of a lifetime and say that origins is a matter for a scientist to determine. I believe that they are dead wrong. Calling it a scientific issue does not remove from any individual the necessity of answering the deeper question. 

"Is there really a God, and has He spoken to mankind?"

To put it simply, IF God exists then He must be Creator because He claims to be Creator.   If He is lying and He did not create all things, then He can not be God, for He also claims that He can not lie and His declaration of being Creator would be a lie.  Therefore, He could not be God.

If somehow, someday, somewhere, someone proves that this world was not created, but instead, came into being in a way that is different than God claims, then that same person also proves that God does not exist.  So the whole argument over creation and evolution is actually an argument over whether or not there is a God.
